Like any organization, St. Matthew conducts its business through the monthly meetings of the Church Council. Through elected officers who work alongside the Pastor and the Elders, it holds open meetings with business voted upon by the Church Council. Any member is welcome to attend and provide input to the Council and the minutes are compiled and archived at the Church Office for all to view. Election of church officers is held bi-annually at the December Voter's Meeting and notice is provided for all Voter's Meetings via the church website, newsletter and Sunday Bulletin. By-Laws of the Church Council are also available for viewing by all members and available in the church office.

The Church Council also administers the Faith in Action program for members who join committees that forward the work of the church. Members who are not currently on a Faith in Action Committee can call the church office for more information. Sign-ups for committees are welcome at any time of the year and committees are staffed by volunteer leaders and participants. Legs on Faith provide essential services for the positive growth and functioning of the church and all members are encouraged to participate.
